Phulbani . Aug 1 [UDN}: The Odisha government has officially named the Government Medical College and Hospital in Phulbani after Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati. The institution will now be known as the Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati Government Medical College and Hospital, Phulbani.
The decision was formally notified through an official notification issued by the State Health Department. With this announcement, the medical college has been renamed in honour of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, recognizing his contribution and legacy.
The Health Department’s notification confirms that the new name will be used for all official and administrative purposes going forward. This move marks an important development for the medical institution in Kandhamal district and reflects the state’s decision to commemorate the spiritual leader through the naming of the government medical college and hospital
