Odisha Aims to Become Global Sports Talent Hub Through Strategic Roadmap Deliberations

Bhubaneswar, June 8: The Sports and Youth Services Department of Odisha organized a two-day vision workshop aimed at strengthening the state’s sports ecosystem and building a long-term roadmap for development.

Addressing representatives at the event, officials emphasized that the insights, suggestions, and experiences shared by renowned athletes, sports experts, and administrators will play a crucial role in shaping Odisha’s future sports infrastructure and policy direction.

The discussions focused on strengthening sports culture at the grassroots level, improving talent identification systems, and creating a structured pathway for young athletes to excel at national and international levels. The workshop also highlighted the state’s commitment to nurturing sporting excellence through better facilities, training systems, and institutional support.

Officials reiterated Odisha’s ambition to position itself not only as a leading host of major sporting events but also as a global hub for producing world-class athletes. The initiative aligns with the broader vision of building a prosperous and progressive Odisha by 2036, where sports play a key role in youth empowerment and economic development.

The state government also underlined its long-term goal of contributing significantly to India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
