Bhubaneswar, July 23 (UDN): Odisha is expected to witness continued rainfall over the coming days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting light to moderate rain across several parts of the state until July 28 due to an active southwest monsoon and the presence of a trough line.
The weather department has advised residents and authorities to remain alert as several districts may experience periods of heavy rainfall. The IMD has also cautioned that the ongoing rainy conditions could impact the Bahuda Yatra, with rainfall likely to affect arrangements and movement during the religious event.
Officials are monitoring the weather situation closely and have been advised to take necessary precautionary measures to manage possible disruptions caused by heavy showers. Local administrations are preparing for challenges related to waterlogging, traffic movement, and public safety during periods of intense rainfall.
The continued monsoon activity is expected to bring widespread showers across Odisha, providing relief from dry conditions in some areas while also increasing the risk of localized flooding and weather-related disruptions.
Authorities have urged people to follow weather advisories, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall, and remain cautious in vulnerable areas.
