Bhubaneswar, March 31: Odisha is facing a severe heatwave, with temperatures crossing 40°C in several areas. On Sunday, the highest temperature of 41.8°C was recorded in Baudh, western Odisha. Jharsuguda (41.6°C) and Sambalpur (41.2°C) also reported high temperatures.
Other areas like Hirakud, Balangir, and Titlagarh recorded 41°C, while Sundargarh and Bhawanipatna saw temperatures of 40.3°C and 40.8°C. In the capital, Bhubaneswar, temperatures hit 37.1°C, and Cuttack recorded 37.2°C.
Meteorologists predict that there will be no significant change in temperatures over the next five days, with both day and night temperatures remaining high. Authorities are advising residents to stay cautious, stay hydrated, and avoid excessive heat exposure.
