Bhubaneswar, July 9 (UDN): The Odisha State Election Commission (SEC) has initiated preparations for the upcoming 2027 Panchayat and Urban Local Body (ULB) elections, beginning the process to ensure smooth and efficient conduct of the polls.
As part of the preparation, the SEC has scheduled a high-level review meeting through video conference with District Collectors and senior officials later this month. The meeting will focus on booth-wise electoral roll updates, pending election-related administrative tasks, and other key arrangements required for the upcoming elections.
Officials from various districts will review the status of poll preparedness and discuss steps to streamline the election process. The exercise aims to ensure accurate voter lists, effective coordination among departments, and timely completion of necessary groundwork.
The State Election Commission said that advance planning and coordination with district administrations are crucial for conducting free, fair, and transparent elections across Odisha.
The 2027 elections will cover Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies, involving extensive administrative arrangements across the state.
