Odisha Government Approves Major Welfare Measure for Jail Staff, Doubles Annual Uniform Allowance Across Prison Department

Bhubaneswar,  Aug 28 [UDN}:The annual uniform allowance for officers and employees of the Odisha Jail Department has been doubled.
For officials from Jail DIG to Assistant Matron, the allowance has been increased from ₹3,000 to ₹6,000.
For warders and women warders, the allowance has been raised from ₹4,000 to ₹8,000.
Around 2,500 officers and employees will benefit from the decision.
The proposal has been approved by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
The revised uniform allowance will be effective from the current financial year.
The government will incur an additional ₹96.22 lakh annually due to the increase.
