Odisha Government Issues Key Guidelines Ahead of Rath Yatra 2026 in Puri

Puri, July 7 (UDN): The Odisha government has stepped up preparations for the upcoming Rath Yatra 2026 in Puri, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi chairing a high-level review meeting to finalise arrangements for the grand annual festival.

The meeting was held at the Puri Town Hall on Monday, where the Chief Minister reviewed various aspects of the festival management, including crowd control, security arrangements, traffic regulation, sanitation, health services, and facilities for devotees visiting the pilgrim town.

The Rath Yatra is scheduled to begin on July 16, and authorities have issued a set of guidelines to ensure a safe and hassle-free experience for devotees arriving in large numbers for Lord Jagannath’s darshan.

Officials from different departments were directed to coordinate closely and ensure that all necessary arrangements are completed well ahead of the festival. Special focus has been placed on maintaining law and order, managing the movement of pilgrims, and providing essential services during the celebrations.

The state government has urged devotees to follow official instructions and cooperate with security personnel and volunteers to ensure the smooth conduct of the world-famous festival.

With lakhs of devotees expected to gather in Puri, the administration is working on a comprehensive plan to manage the massive congregation and preserve the sanctity of the annual Rath Yatra.
