Bhubaneswar, July 10 (UDN): The Odisha government will release the fifth instalment of financial assistance under the Subhadra Yojana on the occasion of Rakhi Purnima on August 28, ensuring timely support to eligible women beneficiaries across the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has directed officials to complete all pending verification and beneficiary validation processes by July 25 to facilitate the smooth disbursement of funds.
While reviewing the progress of the flagship women’s welfare scheme, Parida informed officials that 3,17,966 fresh applications have been received during the 2026–27 financial year. The review meeting assessed the status of key processes, including Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), e-KYC verification, field-level verification, NPCI mapping, payment file preparation, and bank account linking.
Officials have been instructed to activate DBT services for 82,036 beneficiaries and speed up biometric authentication and e-KYC completion for 28,611 applicants. Special focus has also been placed on completing field verification of 3,53,059 pending applications within the scheduled timeline.
To ensure timely completion of the verification process, block-level teams led by Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Block Subhadra Committees will conduct field enquiries. The verification reports will be reviewed by district-level committees headed by district collectors before being forwarded to the Women and Child Development Department for final processing.
Deputy Chief Minister Parida stressed that all pending formalities must be completed by July 25 so that eligible beneficiaries receive the fifth instalment without delay on Rakhi Purnima.
She also appealed to beneficiaries whose status on the Subhadra portal shows “Non-Biometric e-KYC Pending” to complete the mandatory verification process at the earliest. Beneficiaries can visit their nearest Mo Seva Kendra or Jana Seva Kendra to complete the e-KYC procedure.
The government informed that around 28,621 beneficiaries, mainly those outside the National Food Security Act (NFSA) coverage, are yet to complete the required e-KYC process.
The Odisha government reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening women’s welfare initiatives and ensuring transparent, efficient, and timely delivery of benefits under the Subhadra Yojana.
