Keonjhar: Aug 7 [UDN}: The Odisha Government has paid tribute to firefighter Chandan Pattnaik, who made the supreme sacrifice while carrying out a flood rescue operation in Keonjhar district. Chandan lost his life in the line of duty while bravely rescuing people trapped by floodwaters, displaying exceptional courage and dedication to public service.
In recognition of his selfless sacrifice, the state government announced a comprehensive support package for his bereaved family. The family has been provided with financial assistance of ₹1.20 crore, ensuring long-term financial security. Additionally, as part of the government’s compassionate rehabilitation measures, one eligible family member has been offered a government job.
The state described Chandan Pattnaik’s sacrifice as an inspiring example of bravery and commitment to protecting lives during natural disasters. His service and heroism have been widely acknowledged, and the government’s assistance reflects its commitment to honoring personnel who lay down their lives in the line of duty while serving the people of Odisha.
