Bhubaneswar, Dec 11: Odisha is all set to host the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) from January 8 to 10, welcoming around 7,000 NRIs. In addition to hotel accommodations, the state is offering homestay options, with local hosts trained in guest management and safety protocols.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida highlighted the opportunity for Odia families to host visitors and provide a unique cultural experience. The Odisha Tourism department has reserved 200 hotels across Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri. Delegates are encouraged to book through the official website to avoid cyber fraud.
The state has also identified 30 key tourist destinations for delegates to visit. This marks the first time Odisha hosts PBD, with key leaders including External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and President Droupadi Murmu set to attend.
