Odisha Sends 800 Senior Citizens on Pilgrimage to Ayodhya and Varanasi

Bhubaneswar, March 20: A special train carrying 800 senior citizens from six districts of Odisha left for a pilgrimage to Ayodhya and Varanasi under the state’s Baristha Nagarika Tirtha Yatra Yojana.

The train was flagged off by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida from Bhubaneswar Railway Station, with the presence of Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh and other state officials.

The pilgrims, from Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, and Kendrapara, will visit sacred sites like Lord Ram Lalla’s birthplace in Ayodhya and Varanasi. Along with them, 25 government officials are accompanying the group.

The initiative aims to offer senior citizens a chance to visit important religious destinations, strengthening cultural ties between Odisha and Uttar Pradesh.
