Bhubaneswar, Aug 19 [UDN}:The Odisha Government has announced a significant financial assistance initiative aimed at helping students from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities pursue higher education at reputed institutions abroad. Under the scheme, eligible students who wish to undertake higher studies in foreign countries will receive substantial financial support from the state government to reduce the financial burden associated with overseas education.
According to the announcement, eligible SC and ST students can receive financial assistance of up to ₹50 lakh for pursuing higher education abroad. The assistance is intended to support deserving students in meeting the high costs involved in international education, including expenses related to their academic studies and other associated requirements, subject to the applicable scheme guidelines and eligibility conditions.
The initiative is expected to provide an important opportunity for meritorious students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who aspire to study at foreign universities but may otherwise find the cost of overseas education difficult to afford. By extending financial assistance, the Odisha Government aims to enable talented students to access quality higher education and broaden their academic and professional opportunities at the international level.
The application process for the scheme has opened from today, August 19, and eligible students can submit their applications until August 31. Interested candidates are advised to complete the application process within the stipulated deadline and carefully check the eligibility requirements, required documents and other conditions before submitting their applications.
The scheme is being viewed as an important step towards promoting higher education among SC and ST students and ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent deserving candidates from pursuing advanced studies in foreign universities. Students who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity and apply within the specified application period.
