Orkel Police Conducts Community Meeting under “Ama Police Samiti” Initiative

Malkangiri, 26th Aug 2025:  On Sunday at 11 a.m., the Orkel Police of Malkangiri district organized the Ama Police Samiti programme at the village square of MV-120 under Puruna Chimitapalli Panchayat, Korukonda Block. The event was held under the chairmanship of Orkel Police Station IIC Duren Pattana Nayak.

Distinguished guests included Puruna Chimitapalli Panchayat Sarpanch Rajesh Madkami, Samiti Member Madana Pamiya, along with SI Ajit Singh Bariha, SI Harpriya Sabar, SI Manohar Sahu, ASI Sanjeev Kumar Takri, and other dignitaries. More than 500 villagers from MV-120, Chimitapalli (A), Chimitapalli (B), Katapalli, Jantri, MV-123, MV-119, Tentuliguda, Sindhibata, Katapalli Colony, Bandiguda, Subarnapur, and surrounding villages participated.

During the programme, police officers sensitized the public about pressing social issues, particularly the need to stop the growing menace of child marriage in the region and to prevent rising incidents of suicide. They also warned villagers against online frauds, explaining how some fraudulent institutions lure people through the internet and siphon money from their bank accounts. Detailed guidance was given on how to avoid becoming victims of cybercrimes.

Awareness was also raised on road safety, the importance of wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers, fastening seat belts while driving, and adhering to traffic rules under the Motor Vehicles Act. Police officers further informed citizens about newly introduced laws and advised them to stay away from fake Facebook accounts.

The officers reassured the gathering that the police are always committed to serving the people, controlling crime, and ensuring public safety. They emphasized that villagers can approach their local police at any time for assistance.
