Phulbani, June 1: Lakshmipriya Parida, a daughter of the Brahmanigaon area in Kandhamal district, has brought गौरव to Brahmanigaon, Kandhamal, and Odisha by receiving the CII Ideal Woman Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions. She received the honour on May 12 during the CII Annual Business Meet 2026 held in New Delhi.
At the special event, a total of 376 women from different states across India had applied for the award. Out of them, 20 women were selected and honoured with the Women Exemplar Award 2026. Union Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan attended the programme and presented the award.
Lakshmipriya began her work with a voluntary organisation in 1993. Through her dedication, honesty, compassion, and cooperative nature, she earned a special place in the hearts of people. Later, after joining IGS in 2010, she continued working for women’s livelihoods in various regions including Mangalajodi Ecotourism, Rayagada, Similipal in Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, and Jajpur.
Today, she has reached 47,223 families across different parts of Odisha and has helped make 12,435 women self-reliant. Going forward, she aims to continue supporting women’s development through new knowledge, skills, and technology at various levels.
