Keonjhar, July 3 (UDN): The post-mortem examination of a minor boy who reportedly died in a suspected illegal mining accident has been delayed for more than 48 hours due to the ongoing doctors’ protest in Odisha.
According to reports, the incident occurred in the Koida area, and the body has been kept in the mortuary of TATA Main Hospital in Joda while the family awaits the mandatory autopsy. The delay has postponed further legal and investigative procedures related to the case.
The family has expressed concern over the prolonged wait, seeking timely completion of the post-mortem so that the cause of death can be officially established and appropriate action may follow.
The incident has also renewed attention on allegations of illegal mining activities in the region and the need for effective enforcement of safety and regulatory measures.
Authorities are expected to conduct the post-mortem once medical services resume and continue the investigation based on the findings.
