Puri , June 27 {UDN}: At a recent event in Puri, the Hon’ble Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, along with Departmental Secretary Usha Padhee and senior departmental officials, discussed the need for an additional town hall in the city. During the meeting, I highlighted the growing requirement for a new convention facility in Puri.
Recognizing this necessity, the Minister announced the construction of a new 1,000-seat Town Hall and directed the Commissioner of the Puri Municipal Corporation to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) and submit it to the department at the earliest for financial approval.
In another significant development aimed at strengthening transportation infrastructure in Puri Sadar, a proposal was accepted under the Chief Minister’s Road Scheme. During the foundation stone-laying ceremony for a 2.2-kilometre rural development road at Bharathipur under Kashiharipur, which has recently been included within the jurisdiction of Puri Municipal Corporation, the project was formally launched.
The event was attended by the Puri Sadar Block Chairperson, local leaders, well-wishers, and residents of the area, who welcomed the initiatives and expressed their support for the proposed development projects.
These initiatives are expected to enhance civic infrastructure, improve connectivity, and support the growing urban and cultural needs of Puri.
