Raighar, June 11: The seventh Panchayat Samiti meeting was held in the conference hall of the Raighar Block Office. The meeting was chaired by Panchayat Samiti Chairman Gupta Prasad Jhankar.
During the meeting, BDO Ritu Singh presented a detailed report on the progress of various development projects being implemented in the block. Discussions were also held regarding the “Viksit Gaon, Viksit Odisha” (Developed Village, Developed Odisha) initiative.
Sarpanches and Samiti members highlighted various issues from their respective panchayats and submitted lists of local problems requiring attention.
Among those present at the meeting were the Additional Tahsildar of Raighar, MP representative Priti Snigdha Mahapatra, ABDO Bijay Kumar Sethi, Jatindra Nath Gand, Khageswar Harijan, Nanara Khara, along with 26 Panchayat Sarpanches, Samiti members, and officials of the block administration.
The participants demanded solutions to issues related to drinking water supply, sanitation, rural roads, effective implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), healthcare, electricity, education, agriculture, Antyodaya housing schemes, old-age pension schemes, utilization of Central and State Finance Commission funds, social welfare schemes, rural development programmes, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Gopabandhu Rural Development Scheme, and several other rural welfare initiatives.
