July 21: Odisha is likely to witness continued rainfall over the next few days as an active cyclonic circulation influences weather conditions across the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather alerts for several regions, with the possibility of rain affecting preparations and arrangements for the upcoming Bahuda Yatra of Lord Jagannath and His siblings.
Weather officials have indicated that rainfall patterns may remain similar to the conditions witnessed during the Shree Gundicha Yatra, when rain disrupted outdoor activities in parts of the state. The ongoing weather system is expected to bring showers in several districts, requiring authorities and devotees to remain prepared.
The forecast comes at a time when thousands of devotees are expected to participate in the Bahuda Yatra, one of the most significant events of the annual Rath Yatra festival. The return journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra holds immense religious importance and attracts large gatherings of devotees.
Authorities are closely monitoring the weather situation and reviewing necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival. Measures are being taken to manage crowd movement, maintain safety, and provide support to devotees in case of heavy rainfall.
The IMD has advised people to remain alert and follow weather updates, especially those planning to attend outdoor events. District administrations have also been asked to stay prepared for possible weather-related challenges.
Despite the expected rainfall, preparations for the Bahuda Yatra are continuing with devotion and enthusiasm. Officials and organisers are working together to ensure that the religious event proceeds safely while keeping the well-being of devotees as the top priority.
