Rasulpur,Sept 3 [UDN}:: A memorial meeting and souvenir release ceremony was organised by the Retired Teachers’ Association at Panchagochhia village in Madhuban under Rasulpur Block in memory of the late teacher Ramachandra Rout.
The meeting was presided over by educationist Jitendra Kar. Several distinguished guests, including educationist Kailash Chandra Nayak, former Block Chairman Shashibhushan Sahu, former BRCC Pradeep Samal and social worker Bishwalit Mohanty, paid tribute to the departed teacher and observed a minute of silence.
Speakers recalled Ramachandra Rout’s dedicated service, discipline, punctuality, simple teaching methods and organisational abilities. Around 42 speakers shared their memories of his life and contributions.
His sons Samarendra Rout, Shailendra Rout and Soumyaranjan Rout felicitated the guests. The memorial souvenir, edited by his daughter Debadara Rout, was unveiled by communist leader Laxman Rout. Lecturer Pranati Rout proposed the vote of thanks.
