Bhubaneswar, Sept 8 [UDN}:The Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Department has taken a major decision aimed at making revenue-related public services faster, easier, and more accessible to citizens.
A new mobile application of the Revenue Department is scheduled to be launched from April. Through this app, people will reportedly be able to access various revenue-related services without having to physically visit a Revenue Office.
Under the new system, citizens will be able to apply for and obtain important certificates from the comfort of their homes. This is expected to reduce the need for repeated visits to government offices and make the process of obtaining certificates more convenient and transparent.
The initiative is intended to strengthen digital delivery of government services and simplify the interaction between citizens and the Revenue Department. Instead of spending time travelling to revenue offices, standing in queues, and submitting documents physically, people will be able to use the new digital platform to access eligible services online.
Another important aspect of the decision is that government officials will also come under greater scrutiny. Officials who neglect their responsibilities or fail to process applications properly may be identified through the new system. The digital platform is expected to help authorities monitor the status of applications and improve accountability among officials.
The move is therefore being seen as an important step towards paperless, citizen-friendly and transparent revenue administration in Odisha. It is expected to benefit people, particularly those who face difficulties travelling to government offices to obtain certificates and other revenue-related documents.
The new app, once operational, could make several routine services available digitally, allowing citizens to submit applications, track their requests and receive certificates without unnecessary visits to government offices.
The Revenue Department’s initiative is also expected to reduce delays, improve monitoring of applications and make officials more accountable for timely service delivery.
