Senior citizens across the state can now look forward to spiritual journeys as the ‘Pilgrimage Scheme 2026–27’ opens for applications starting July 15.

Bhubaneswar,   July 15 [UDN}:  In a welcome initiative for senior citizens, the government has launched the Pilgrimage Scheme 2026–27 to facilitate visits to various sacred destinations across the country. Applications for the scheme will be accepted starting from July 15.

The scheme aims to provide elderly citizens with an opportunity to undertake spiritual journeys in a safe and organized manner. Eligible beneficiaries will receive travel and other support facilities under the programme.

The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of senior citizens and help them fulfill their long-cherished desire of visiting important pilgrimage sites. Interested applicants are advised to complete the application process within the stipulated time period.
