Asika, Aug 29 [UDN}: The sacred festival of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated in a deeply spiritual atmosphere at Shanti Shakti Bhawan, the local service centre of the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya in Asika. On the occasion, all the brothers and sisters associated with the spiritual organisation immersed themselves in deep yoga and meditation from the morning, remembering the Supreme Soul and offering prayers for peace and spiritual strength to prevail across the world.
Explaining the spiritual significance of Raksha Bandhan, service-centre in-charge Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Prabhati Didi said that the Raksha Sutra is not merely a traditional symbol of protection. Rather, it represents a spiritual commitment to remain connected with the benevolent Supreme Soul, Shiv Baba, and protect oneself from negative thoughts, weaknesses and vices of the mind. She tied Raksha Sutras to the brothers and sisters present at the programme and urged everyone to dedicate themselves to the welfare of their families, society and humanity at large.
At the conclusion of the programme, a special memorial meeting was organised to mark the 19th Avyakt Smriti Diwas of Rajyogini Dadi Prakashmani, the former chief administrator of the Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya. Several prominent citizens attended the meeting and paid their heartfelt tributes to the revered Dadi Prakashmani.
Among those present were former president of the Asika Bar Association Sudhanshu Kumar Panda, retired Sanskrit scholar Durga Prasad Panda, senior journalist Satyanarayan Rath, retired headmaster Mihir Mahapatra, Sambad representative Girish Tripathy, along with intellectuals, office-bearers of various organisations and senior citizens of the town. They remembered Dadi Prakashmani for her spiritual contributions, service to humanity and efforts towards promoting peace, harmony and moral values.
A special Raksha Bandhan programme was also organised by the Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya at the Asika Sub-Jail. The programme was conducted under the coordination of Jail Superintendent Khageswar Singh. Addressing the inmates, Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Prabhati Didi explained the spiritual purpose and significance of Raksha Bandhan.
She subsequently tied Raksha Sutras to all the inmates and encouraged them to make a firm commitment to lead healthy, peaceful and drug-free lives. She emphasised the importance of self-discipline, positive thinking, spiritual awareness and inner transformation in helping individuals move towards a better and more meaningful life.
All the staff members of the sub-jail extended their cooperation in conducting the programme successfully. At the end of the event, Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Sujnani guided the inmates through a session of Sahaj Rajyoga, introducing them to simple techniques of meditation and spiritual practice aimed at promoting mental peace, concentration and positive thinking.
