Shivling Emerges in Mundaguda Forest, Draws Devotees

Papadahandi, Jan, 09: A Shivling has appeared in the Mundaguda forest area of Papadahandi block in Nabarangpur district, located between the villages of Nakatiguda, Punjiguda, and Kaliaguda, and within the Nachanipokhana area. After the news spread, the number of devotees from nearby areas coming for worship has been steadily increasing.

According to reports, Chandrabhatra of Kaliaguda village received a divine message in a dream on Thursday night. Early Friday morning, he went to the Nachanipokhana forest. While collecting bilva (bel) leaves, he noticed a Shivling. He then called Lakshman Bhatra, who was in the forest, and together they cleared the surrounding bushes and leaves. As a result, the Shivling became fully visible.

After the information was shared in the village, local residents arrived at the site, cleaned the entire area, and began worship rituals. Large numbers of devotees from villages such as Minja, Sunadangri, Papadahandi, Punjiguda, Kaliaguda, and Nakatiguda are visiting the site to have darshan of the Shivling and perform worship.

There is no proper road leading to the Nachanipokhana forest. Although a narrow pathway exists, it is said that wild animals inhabit the forest. The place where the Shivling has appeared is surrounded by many bel trees. Local residents believe that in the coming days, a large number of devotees will visit this sacred site.
