Jeypore, July 31 UDN}:: With petrol and diesel prices rising day by day, pollution caused by smoke and emissions from vehicles is also reaching alarming levels. To address this growing problem and create awareness among society, students of Jeypore City High School in Koraput district have taken an inspiring initiative.
As part of a programme organised on the school premises, boys and girls gathered with their bicycles and urged people to reduce the use of petrol- and diesel-powered vehicles and adopt cycling as an eco-friendly mode of transport.
Raising slogans such as “Ride a bicycle, save the environment, stay healthy,” the students appealed to the public to adopt a pollution-free and healthy lifestyle. Their inspiring initiative was widely appreciated by the school’s teachers and local intellectuals, who praised the students for spreading awareness about environmental protection, sustainable transportation and healthy living.
