Bhubaneswar, July 3 {UDN}: Major relief for teachers who have not yet qualified the TET.
The time limit to clear the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) has been extended from 2 years to 3 years.
Teachers must now qualify the TET by August 31, 2028.
Teachers who have not yet passed the TET have been directed to clear the examination within the revised three-year period.
The Supreme Court of India has made it mandatory for all teachers across the country to qualify the TET.
The School and Mass Education Department has issued a letter to the Director of Elementary Education regarding the implementation of this decision.
The extension is expected to provide additional time and flexibility for eligible teachers while ensuring compliance with the mandatory TET qualification requirement. It also aims to strengthen the quality of school education by ensuring that all teachers meet the prescribed eligibility standards.
