Temple Theft Sparks Concern in Dhamanahandi Village as Miscreants Break Into Thakurani Temple

Kotpad, July 28 UDN}:7: Miscreants allegedly broke into the Shitala Thakurani Temple at Dhamanahandi village under Kotpad police station limits and fled with gold and silver ornaments worth lakhs of rupees.

The incident reportedly took place on Sunday night, when the miscreants broke the temple lock and stole the deity’s eyes, crowns, gold and silver ornaments, a waist belt, and other valuable jewellery.

The miscreants also broke the lock of the Shiva Temple in Dhamanahandi village, but reportedly did not steal anything from there.

Following a written complaint by villagers regarding the theft from the Thakurani Temple, police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.

It is alleged that miscreants have been targeting temples and houses in the Kotpad area. Recently, a silver crown was also reportedly stolen from the Hardali Temple. Local residents have demanded that the police keep a close watch on suspicious and unidentified persons, particularly those coming from neighbouring states, to prevent such incidents in the area.
