The Batris Singhasan Contractors’ Association appealed to the MLA to intervene and address the problems faced by contractors, emphasizing the need for timely solutions to ensure smooth execution of development works.

Nandapur, June 5:  The Batris Singhasan Contractors’ Association, formed by ABC category contractors of Nandapur and Lamtaput blocks in Koraput district, paid a courtesy visit to Koraput MLA Raghuram Machha on Sunday.

Under the leadership of association president Santosh Kumar Sahu, the members submitted a memorandum to the MLA. In the memorandum, they stated that the state government is planning to implement a new rule allowing unlimited bidding in the tender process instead of the existing 14.99 percent less bidding limit.

The association expressed concern that this move could reduce the quality of developmental works undertaken by the government. The letter further mentioned that, in order to maintain the quality of work, the contractors’ association has resolved to continue following the previous system and participate in the tender process at least at the scheduled rate.
The association also requested the MLA to place their proposal before the state government. MLA Raghuram Machha assured them that he would discuss the matter with the Chief Minister and departmental officials.

On this occasion, association vice-president Ashok Kumar Sahu, secretary Haribandhu Khara, joint secretary Tarun Kumar Choudhury, along with Bikash Panda, Simanchal Choudhury, Bhakta Muduli and others were present.
The memorandum was submitted to MLA Raghuram Machha on behalf of the Batris Singhasan Contractors’ Association.
