Dhenkanal,July 11 [UDN}:: The 77th Van Mahotsav Week was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Nigamananda Government High School located in Mahulapal village under the Kamakhyanagar West Range of the Dhenkanal Forest Division. The event was organized by the Department of Forest, Environment and Climate Change.
On this occasion, Kamakhyanagar MLA Shatrughan Jena attended as the Chief Guest, while Divisional Forest Officer Lalit Kumar Patra and Sub-Collector Bikash Kumar Mahanti were present as Guests of Honour.
The dignitaries marked the celebration by planting saplings on the school campus and spreading the message of environmental protection. They highlighted the importance of trees for society and the environment, their usefulness, and the need for forest conservation.
The speakers emphasized that deforestation is leading to serious issues such as climate change and global warming. Therefore, they urged everyone to give priority to tree plantation and the protection of forests.
Ranger Kailash Sahu, Sushanu Kumar Patra, and other officials and staff members of the Forest Department actively supported and participated in the programme.
