Tree Plantation Initiative by Koraput District Contractors Association Highlights Commitment to Environmental Protection and Sustainability

Baipariguda:June 17: Demonstrating its commitment to environmental protection and social responsibility, the Koraput District Contractors Association organized a large-scale tree plantation program in front of the Jeypore Law College.

The program was conducted under the leadership of contractor Ganesh Nayak and witnessed the participation of a large number of contractors who planted trees to help maintain ecological balance. More than 200 saplings of medicinal and environmentally beneficial species, including Amla (Indian Gooseberry), Bahada, and Harida, were planted during the event.

On behalf of the Forest Department, Forest Ranger Sashank Maharana coordinated and supervised the program. Among those present were Krishna Gouda, Basant Tripathy, Balaji Panigrahi, Tarini Panigrahi, Madhu Machha, Jagadish Nayak, K.S. Bisu, Ranjit Patra, Dilip Das, Bijay Gouda, Dayika Rao, Ranjit Mahapatra, Muni Sahu, and Bibhuti Maharana, along with more than 80 contractors.

Later, a general meeting of the Association was held at the premises of the Sitalagudi Temple. The meeting focused on safeguarding the interests of contractors in Koraput district, addressing the various challenges they face, and strengthening the organization. Members also resolved to work collectively for the welfare of contractors across the district in the future.
During the meeting, a new executive committee was unanimously formed. The following office-bearers were elected:
President: Bijay Gouda
Working President: Ganesh Nayak
Secretary: K.S. Bisu
Vice Presidents: Devi Prasad Panda and Simanchal Padhi
Treasurer: Sanjay Jain
Additionally, Naveen Nayak, Ajit Patra, and Rabindra Pattnaik were appointed as Joint Secretaries. Ranjit Satpathy, Gopi Sahu, Tarini Panigrahi, Basant Tripathy, Jagadish Nayak, Bikash Mahapatra, Sujit Nayak, Swayamjit Panda, Madhu Machha, Shiva Gouda, and Ranjit Mahapatra were nominated as Executive Members.
Furthermore, Krishna Gouda was unanimously selected as the Advisor, while Rabindra Mahapatra was appointed as the Legal Consultant of the Association.
The members expressed confidence that the newly formed executive committee would work effectively toward resolving contractors’ issues and promoting their collective development and welfare throughout the district.
