Umerkote, July 28 UDN}: Van Mahotsav was celebrated on Friday at Siunaguda Government Upper Primary School under the Beheda Cluster of Umerkote Block.
An awareness programme was organised on the occasion, which was attended by Headmaster Gurubabu Pattnaik, Resource Centre Coordinator Bishnu Prasad Sahu, Burg Resource Centre Coordinator Ratnakar Dash, School Management Committee President Purna Santa, Ward Member Radhab Santa, former SMC President Pandu Santa and other distinguished guests.
The guests explained how trees help protect nature and human society. To make the school premises greener and more beautiful, a large number of saplings of different varieties were planted on the occasion.
Burg CRCC Ratnakar Dash was felicitated during the programme. Students, teachers and staff of the school, villagers, and teachers from nearby schools were present at the event.
