Umarkot , Nov 27: The police department has organized a cyber fraud awareness program. As cybercrime is increasing day by day in the state, there is a pressing need to raise public awareness. In response, the state police have launched a public awareness campaign.
Under this initiative, the Umarkot police department of Nabarangpur district conducted a bicycle rally, starting from Ma’ Pendani Temple, covering all wards of the town to educate people about cybercrime. A 1930 helpline number has been issued for reporting cybercrime complaints. The rally focused on informing the public not only about how to stay safe from cybercrime but also about precautionary measures and ways to prevent it through public cooperation.
College students actively participated in the program. Among the officials present were Nabarangpur District Superintendent of Police M. Sunil Sampath, Nabarangpur DSP Smt. Saroj Kisapath, Umarkot SDPO Subendu Shabar, Raighar Police Station Officer Raghunath Majhi, Umarkot Police Station Officer Ramakant Sai, SI Shivaji Panda, Akshay Mishra, SI Bishwaranjan Padhi, Narendra Golapi, along with other police staff and local intellectuals.
