Bhubaneswar, June 18: : Based on research and scientific contributions, in the ‘Science-Grand Global Registry’ published for 2025, six professors from Utkal University have been included among the top 5 percent scientists in the world.
They are Professor Srirup Goswami from the Department of Geosciences, Emeritus Professor Nigamananda Das from the Department of Chemistry, Director of Research and Development Professor Jayadev Dinda, Emeritus Scientist Professor Anatha Bandhu Das from the Department of Botany, Professor Himanshu Sekhar Raut from the Department of Analytical and Applied Economics, and Professor Gagan Bihari Nityananda Chini from the Department of Biotechnology and Zoology.
Their research contributions in areas such as cancer drug development, green energy, plant genomics, oxidative stress, antioxidant defense, redox biology, and economic analysis have been widely recognized at the global level.
Following this rare achievement of six professors, a celebratory atmosphere has spread across the campus, and congratulations have been pouring in for them. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chandi Prasad Nanda, congratulated the professors and said that this achievement reflects the university’s strong commitment to excellence and innovation in research.
He added that this extraordinary success has enhanced the pride of the university and brought honor to the entire state of Odisha. He appreciated the professors for their dedicated research efforts and expressed hope that they will continue to achieve similar success in future academic and research activities. He also stated that other professors would be inspired by this achievement and further strengthen their contributions in the field of research.
