Jharsuguda: Aug 8 [UDN}:Ahead of the upcoming 80th Independence Day celebrations, the District Information and Public Relations Department of Jharsuguda organized a two-day series of competitions for school students at Sarbahal Government High School premises. The initiative aimed to instill a sense of patriotism among young students and provide a platform to nurture and showcase their hidden talents.
The first phase of the competitions was held on August 2, featuring essay writing and drawing competitions. The second phase, conducted on August 3, included speech and patriotic song competitions. The essay writing and speech competitions were specially organized in three languages — Odia, English, and Hindi — allowing students from different language backgrounds to demonstrate their skills effectively.
Around 280 students from various schools across Jharsuguda district participated in the two-day event with great enthusiasm. The entire programme was conducted smoothly under the direct supervision and guidance of District Education Department Physical Education Officer Sushant Behera.
Employees of the District Information and Public Relations Department, including Nihal Bhoi and Rabindra Nial, played an active role in the successful management and coordination of the event.
All the winners and outstanding performers of the competitions will be felicitated during the district-level Independence Day celebration ceremony.
