Yoga is not just a form of physical exercise — it is a holistic way of life that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit. This truth was once again affirmed on 21st June 2025, as millions across India and the world came together to celebrate the 11th International Day of Yoga. This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, highlights the intrinsic connection between personal well-being and planetary health.

National Celebrations in Visakhapatnam

The central celebration of International Yoga Day 2025 was held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, where thousands of participants gathered in the early morning hours for a mass yoga session by the sea. Dignitaries, yoga enthusiasts, and members of the armed forces joined hands to promote the ancient Indian discipline as a unifying and healing force. The event emphasized how yoga transcends barriers of age, culture, and geography, becoming a global movement for health and inner peace.

Speaking at the event, participants echoed the sentiment that “Yoga is not merely an exercise, but a complete philosophy and lifestyle that harmonizes the body, mind, and soul.” The central government’s efforts to promote yoga through educational institutions, digital campaigns, and community engagement were widely appreciated.

Odisha’s State-Level Celebration in Bhubaneswar

In Odisha, the state-level celebration took place at the iconic Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. The event saw enthusiastic participation from all walks of life — students, athletes, government officials, and common citizens. Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and actively took part in the mass yoga demonstration.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister stated, “Yoga is India’s priceless gift to the world. It promotes holistic well-being and mental clarity. Let us make yoga a part of our daily lives for a healthier and happier society.” He also extended warm wishes to the people of Odisha on this meaningful day and encouraged everyone to adopt yoga as a daily discipline.
