Asika,Aug 25 [UDN}: : A voluntary blood donation camp was organized today at the Om Shanti Bhawan premises of the Gahangu Sub-Service Centre of the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya. A total of 16 units of blood were collected during the camp.
The inaugural meeting was organized under the coordination of Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Prabhati Didi, Head of the Shanti Shakti Bhawan Service Centre, Asika. Dr. Sushant Kumar Panda, Managing Director of Asika Sugar Industry, attended the programme as the chief guest. Gahangu Sarpanch Manoj Parida, Kalamb Sarpanch Pradip Kumar Jena, senior Sanskrit scholar Durga Prasad Panda, Dr. Manoj Kumar Swain, Officer-in-Charge of Gahangu Primary Health Centre, and Dr. Poonam Behera, Officer-in-Charge of the Berhampur Blood Bank, were present as guests of honour.
The guests formally inaugurated the blood donation camp by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Addressing the gathering, chief guest Dr. Sushant Kumar Panda highlighted the growing need and importance of blood donation in the present-day situation. He also appreciated the Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya for organizing such a humanitarian initiative aimed at serving society.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Prabhati Didi stated that blood donation camps are organized across India every year in memory of Rajyogini Dadi Prakashmani Ji, the former Chief Administrative Head of the Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, on her death anniversary. As part of this nationwide initiative, the Asika Service Centre and its various sub-service centres have been organizing blood donation camps at regular intervals every year.
All the guests present described voluntary blood donation as one of the noblest forms of humanitarian service. They appealed to the younger generation and socially conscious citizens to come forward and donate blood voluntarily and regularly, emphasizing that a single donation can become a valuable source of support for people in critical need of blood.
Rajyoginis Smita, Lila, Asina and Prabhati, along with Brahma Kumars Bulu Radhashyam and Sudarshan, and other members of the Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, actively participated in the programme and extended their cooperation in conducting the camp successfully.
Brahma Kumar Satyapriya coordinated the programme, while senior Brahma Kumar Laxman Bhai proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the guests, blood donors, medical team members and volunteers who contributed to the successful organization of the camp.
