Kotpad,June 30 {UDN}:An awareness campaign vehicle was flagged off at the Kotpad Community Health Centre to create public awareness about the Pulse Polio immunization programme. The initiative aims to encourage parents and guardians to ensure that all eligible children receive polio vaccination during the campaign.
The programme was inaugurated in the presence of Community Health Officer Dr. Biswajit Mallik, Dr. Mokshaprada, Public Health Extension Officer Rahel Kadam, BPM Ambujini Barik, BAM Himanshu Sekhar Nayak, Narasingha Sahu, Brahmananda Swain, Prakash Adhikari, Ananda Behera, and several other health officials and frontline health workers, who actively participated in making the event successful.
According to officials, the Pulse Polio campaign will be conducted from June 28 to June 30, 2026, while awareness and follow-up activities will continue for about a week. During the campaign, all children aged 0 to 5 years will be administered oral polio vaccine (polio drops) at all Anganwadi centres across the Kotpad area.
The primary objective of launching the awareness vehicle is to reach every household and ensure that no child in the 0–5 years age group is left out of the immunization programme. Health authorities have appealed to parents to bring their children to the nearest vaccination centre and support the collective effort to keep the community free from polio.
