Balangir, Aug 28 [UDN}:: The Balangir Municipality has achieved a major milestone, being recognised as one of the best municipalities in the state for its outstanding contribution to public service and the overall development of the city.
In recognition of this remarkable achievement, the municipality will receive a cash award of ₹1 crore from the ‘Double Engine’ government at a special programme scheduled to be held at Krushi Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on August 31.
The achievement has been attributed to the sustained efforts, people-oriented initiatives and dedicated service of Municipal Chairperson Lika Sahu, particularly her efforts to make Balangir cleaner, more beautiful and citizen-friendly. The municipality is being honoured for its notable performance across various categories.
Following the announcement, Chairperson Lika Sahu has received widespread congratulations and best wishes from different sections of society. She has dedicated the honour and achievement to the people of Balangir, including residents of all age groups.
Sahu said that the recognition would not have been possible without the cooperation, support and trust of the people. She expressed gratitude to the citizens for their continued participation and support in the municipality’s development initiatives.
