Bhubaneswar Hosts Odisha Travel Bazaar 2026 as State Highlights Heritage, Nature, Culture and Tourism Potential

The seventh edition of the Odisha Travel Bazaar was formally inaugurated in Bhubaneswar, bringing together distinguished guests, investors and representatives of the tourism industry from across India and abroad.

Bhubaneswar,  Oct 5 [UDN}:At the event, the state highlighted Odisha’s vast tourism potential and the wide range of investment opportunities available in the sector. With 575 km of scenic coastline, rich heritage, magnificent architecture, traditional art and a vibrant cultural legacy, Odisha has established a distinctive presence on the global tourism map.

The state government said tourism is being positioned as one of the key pillars of Odisha’s economic growth and employment generation, in line with the vision of building a ‘Developed Odisha’.

To accelerate world-class tourism infrastructure and investment, the Odisha Tourism (Amendment) Policy, 2026 and a dedicated tourism portal have been launched. The policy provides for easing regulations for the hotel industry, increasing the ceiling on capital subsidies and developing a dedicated land bank for tourism-related investments.

Tourist safety and visitor convenience are also being strengthened. Tourist Police and Destination Managers are being deployed at 29 major tourist destinations, while around 1,000 lifeguards are being deployed along Odisha’s beaches.

Emphasising the traditional ethos of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’, the government invited investors, tourism professionals and other stakeholders to become partners in Odisha’s tourism development journey and contribute to creating a stronger, globally competitive tourism ecosystem in the state.
