Ganjam: Oct 5 [UDN}:Odisha Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena inspected the landslide situation at Kalinga Ghat following incessant rainfall in the region.
The Minister visited the area near Andharakota, where a landslide occurred due to the continuous heavy rain, affecting normal movement along the ghat road. He took stock of the ground situation and reviewed the ongoing efforts to clear the affected stretch.
During the inspection, Minister Jena directed the concerned departmental officials to take immediate steps to restore vehicular movement on the ghat road at the earliest. He also emphasised prompt action to ensure the safety of commuters and facilitate smooth traffic movement through the affected stretch.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely in view of the continuing rainfall and the possibility of further disruption along the hilly road.
