Big Career Boost for 14 OAS Officers as Presidential Approval Paves the Way for Their Induction into IAS

Bhubaneswar,  Sept 9 [UDN}:As many as 14 Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officers have been promoted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) following approval from the President of India. The promotion marks a significant career advancement for these senior state administrative officers, who have been serving in various important positions across Odisha.

The elevation from the Odisha Administrative Service to the prestigious IAS cadre was granted after completion of the required administrative and selection procedures and subsequent approval at the appropriate level. With the Presidential approval now in place, the 14 officers will formally enter the IAS cadre, strengthening the state’s senior administrative leadership.

The promotion is considered an important development for Odisha’s administrative machinery, as OAS officers with considerable experience in district and state-level governance are regularly inducted into the IAS based on their service record, eligibility and the prescribed selection process.

The newly promoted officers are expected to take on greater responsibilities in policy implementation, district administration, development programmes and various other key areas of governance. Their experience in Odisha’s state administrative system is also expected to contribute to more effective implementation of government schemes and public welfare initiatives.

The development comes as a recognition of the officers’ years of service and administrative experience and provides them with an opportunity to serve in higher-ranking positions within the state and central administrative framework.
