Koraput , Sept 25 [UDN}: Heavy rain triggered by a low-pressure system has led to a flood-like situation in parts of Dasmantpur block in Koraput district. Rising water levels in a hilly stream caused nearly 3 feet of water to flow over the Damajodi bridge under Nandigaon Gram Panchayat.
The overflowing water disrupted vehicular movement, leaving buses, two-wheelers, four-wheelers and passengers stranded on both sides of the bridge for a prolonged period.
The road is a crucial connectivity route for residents of around 20 nearby villages. With the bridge becoming difficult to cross due to the rising water, normal transportation has been severely affected, causing considerable hardship to local residents amid the ongoing heavy rainfall.
