Bhubaneswar, Sept 25 [UDN}:Odisha School and Mass Education Minister said that the ongoing spell of heavy rainfall may lead to an extension of school holidays in the state, depending on the prevailing weather conditions and the situation on the ground.
The Minister noted that schools have been repeatedly closed due to episodes of excessive rainfall, which has affected regular academic activities during the current academic year.
“Schools have been remaining closed repeatedly because of excessive rainfall, and this has affected teaching and learning,” the Minister said.
He added that if required, extra classes will be conducted to compensate for the loss of instructional days and ensure that students are able to complete their academic syllabus within the academic year.
The decision regarding any further extension of school holidays will be taken based on the rainfall situation and safety considerations.
