Demanding Swift Action on the Kotia Dispute, Utkal Sammilani Presents Memorandum Calling for Immediate Government Response

Jayapur, June 16: Utkal Sammilani has expressed deep concern over the activities of the Andhra Pradesh government in the disputed Kotia region of Koraput district. The organization has submitted a memorandum demanding immediate intervention by the Odisha government.

According to the memorandum, although the Kotia region is an integral part of Odisha, the Andhra Pradesh government continues to carry out various developmental and administrative activities in the area. Utkal Sammilani alleged that these actions are creating dissatisfaction and uncertainty among the local residents.

The organization has urged the Odisha government to undertake more development initiatives in Kotia and ensure the provision of basic facilities to the local people. It has also recommended that the government take more active legal and administrative measures to achieve a permanent resolution of the border dispute.

Office-bearers of the organization stated that Kotia is closely linked to Odisha’s identity and self-respect, and therefore the government must take firm and decisive steps on this issue.
