Nabarangpur, June 25 {UDN}: Under the leadership of social worker and women’s advisor of the District Kinnar Association, Sharmistha Deo, members of the District Kinnar Association paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Superintendent of Police (SP) of Nabarangpur district, P. Partha Kashyap.
During the meeting, SP P. Partha Kashyap appreciated the active role played by the Kinnar Association in various social welfare and community development activities. He praised the members for their contributions toward promoting social awareness and supporting public welfare initiatives in the district.
On this occasion, the members of the association discussed several issues and challenges faced by the Kinnar (transgender) community with the Superintendent of Police. The discussion focused on addressing their concerns and ensuring better support and protection for community members.
Those present during the meeting included Association President Kajol, Secretary Chumuki, and members Tanuja, Shilabati, Ipsita, Lipsa, Subarna, Shivani, Preeti, Sruti, Barsha, Boidi, Radha, Laxmi, Anita, and several other members of the Kinnar community.
After listening to their concerns, SP P. Partha Kashyap assured the delegation that the issues raised would be carefully examined and resolved in accordance with the law and applicable government regulations. He reiterated his commitment to supporting the community and addressing their grievances through proper administrative and legal channels.
The assurance given by the Superintendent of Police was welcomed by the association and its advisors. Expressing their happiness and gratitude, Association Chairman Manoj Kumar Pattnaik, along with Chief Advisor and senior social worker Jagannath Mahapatra, Advisor and Advocate Srinivas Pattnaik, Legal Advisor Ram Prasad Patra, Project Leader M. Bala Krishna Rao, Women’s Advisor and social worker Advocate Kishori Pattnaik, Professor Dr. Samyukta Panda, Principal Swarnalata Pattnaik, Advisor and social worker Ninibabu Tripathy, Professor Utkal Bhatta, social worker Durga Padhi, Engineer Chandana Mallik of Umerkote, and several other well-wishers congratulated the members of the Kinnar Association for their efforts.
They also extended their appreciation and best wishes to Superintendent of Police P. Partha Kashyap for his positive response, sensitivity toward community concerns, and commitment to addressing the issues faced by the Kinnar community in Nabarangpur district. The association expressed hope that this interaction would strengthen cooperation between the police administration and the transgender community, contributing to greater social inclusion, dignity, and welfare for all.
