Kotpad, April 15: A Panchayat Samiti meeting was held regarding various development works at the Kotpad Panchayat Samiti office conference hall in Koraput district.
The meeting was attended by local MLA Rupu Bhadra and several officials.
Discussions were held on addressing developmental needs and finding solutions to local requirements. As per the BDO’s report, although the MLA and all officials were present, the BDO stated that the DS (Development Section officer) was not present at the scheduled time due to some official work, which led to dissatisfaction among public representatives.
The MLA emphasized the importance of drinking water supply in rural areas and instructed officials of the electricity department to ensure uninterrupted power supply. Complaints were also raised about the shortage of medicines in primary health centres of various panchayats.
It was reported that students were facing delays in receiving caste certificates, affecting school admissions. Concerns were also raised about improper execution of development works and allegations that contractors were compromising on work quality.
The MLA directed departmental officials to take these issues seriously and ensure proper implementation of government welfare schemes so that benefits reach the people effectively.
Officials including BDO Sandhya Samartha, Tehsildar Parasu Itara, CDPO Prabhati Mohanty, AE Satyanarayan Sethi, along with other department heads were present.
The meeting was also attended by MLA representative Ashutosh Mahapatra, Chairperson Komala Bhatra, Vice-Chairperson Tapan Panigrahi, and Zilla Parishad member Gita Maji. Representatives from 25 departments and 17 panchayats including sarpanchs and samiti members participated in the meeting.
