Fuel Price Hike Sparks Protest as Kotpad BJD Raises Voice Against Increase in Petrol and Diesel Rates

Kotpad June 3:: In Kotpad, the BJD party staged a protest and demonstration at a local petrol pump against the unjustified rise in petrol and diesel prices, under the direction of former Kotpad MLA Chandrasekhar Majhi and Block Vice-Chairman Tapan Panigrahi.

During the protest, all leaders and workers of the Kotpad BJD actively participated and extended full support. Prominent participants included former minister Padmini Dian, former MLA Chandrasekhar Majhi, Block Vice-Chairman Tapan Panigrahi, Panchayat Samiti President Biren Bisoi, MD Salim, Gopal Singh Lal, Sarpanch Deb Majhi, Purna Pujari, Raju Badi, Shiv Pattnaik, Srimant Panda, Iswar Mohanty, Tripati Mohanty, Sushant Badi, along with several other party workers.

The protesters also raised concerns over multiple issues, including the shortage and rising prices of essential commodities, LPG cylinder scarcity, urea shortage, frequent power cuts, alleged irregularities in smart meter billing, and electricity outages lasting 4 to 5 days in various panchayats of Kotpad block.

The protest was held in front of the Maa Bhandar Gharani petrol pump, where participants staged a demonstration and raised slogans against the government. They warned that if the government does not address their demands, they will intensify their agitation in the coming days, including the possibility of road blockades and larger protests.
