Bhubaneswar, April. 27: The tenure of School Management Committees (SMC/SMDC) has been extended until June 30, 2026, ensuring continuity in school-level governance and decision-making. This extension aims to maintain stability in the implementation of various educational programs and schemes without disruption.
With this decision, existing committees will continue to oversee key responsibilities such as monitoring school infrastructure, student attendance, and utilization of funds. It also allows more time for authorities to streamline the process for the formation of new committees.
Officials believe the extension will support better coordination between parents, teachers, and local authorities, ultimately contributing to improved learning outcomes and school development.
