Bhubaneswar, May 16: The Odisha Government’s initiative “Atmanirbhar Mahila Subahak” (AMA Subahak), launched to make women drivers self-reliant and enhance their dignity in the transport sector, is progressing successfully.
At a programme held today at Kharavela Bhavan, the keys of a new vehicle were handed over to beneficiary Bhanupriya Behera. Having received training from IDTR, Chhatia in 2019,
Bhanupriya has now fulfilled her dream of becoming a car owner.
Including her, a total of seven women have so far become car owners through this scheme.
At today’s event, senior officials including Commerce and Transport Department Principal Secretary N.B.S. Rajput and Transport Commissioner Amitabh Thakur were present. They handed over the car keys to Bhanupriya Behera and encouraged greater participation of women in the transport sector.
