Umarkote, June 13: The Summer Sports Camp organized at the Multipurpose Indoor Stadium in Umarkote has concluded successfully. The camp was conducted under the supervision of the stadium’s Officer-in-Charge, Ashok Kumar Sahu, and the management of the Multipurpose Sports Academy.
The primary objective of the camp, held under the guidance of M. Vijay Kumar, Managing Director of the Academy, was to encourage young athletes and enhance their sporting skills. Compared to similar camps organized elsewhere in the state, the Umarkote camp recorded the highest number of athlete registrations.
During the valedictory ceremony, Alok Kumar Anugulia, Executive Officer of Umarkote Municipality; Manoj Kumar Meher, Block Development Officer; Bidhu Bhushan Behera, Extension Officer (Welfare); and Ram Nayak, Additional Government Advocate, attended as chief guests. They highlighted the importance of sports and encouraged participants to continue pursuing athletic excellence.
Certificates approved by the Government of Odisha were distributed to the participating athletes.
The guests also acknowledged the contributions of Officer-in-Charge Ashok Kumar Sahu, Managing Director M. Vijay Kumar, and coaches Prafulla Kalar, Nakul Santa, Subas Santa, Sriram Chalan, Anand Kumar Harijan, Dhakal Singh Gond, and Suresh Bhatra. Recognition was also given to women coaches Nabina Santa, Punei Pujari, Lalita Bhatra, Jayamani Bhatra, and Sumati Bhatra for their efforts in making the camp a success.
The event was coordinated and conducted by Er. Chandana Mallik, Women’s Sports Coordinator of the District Sports Association.
