Health Authorities Strengthen Flood Response Measures, Ordering Hospitals Across Vulnerable Areas to Ensure Adequate Availability of Anti-Snake Venom for Emergencies

Bhubaneswar,  July 30 UDN}:  As floodwaters continue to pose a serious threat in several areas, the Health Department has been placed on high alert to ensure prompt medical response during the emergency. In view of the increased risk of snakebite incidents during floods, the department has instructed all government hospitals, community health centres, and primary health centres to maintain sufficient stocks of Anti-Snake Venom (ASV).

Health officials have been directed to remain fully prepared to handle snakebite cases and other flood-related medical emergencies. Medical teams have also been advised to ensure the availability of essential medicines, emergency equipment, and trained healthcare personnel in vulnerable areas.

The department has emphasized that rapid treatment and timely administration of Anti-Snake Venom can save lives. District health authorities have been asked to closely monitor the situation and ensure uninterrupted healthcare services throughout the flood period.
